Laser Tattoo Removal Brisbane, Queensland

If you have an unwanted tattoo that you now regret, or have simply grown tired of, you will be happy to know that there is a solution. The Cosmetic Medicine Centre, based in Brisbane, focuses on Laser Tattoo Removal.

To understand how laser Tattoo Removal works, you must first understand what happens when you initially get a tattoo. Tattooing involves the tattoo artist inserting the ink with a tattooing machine into the skin's dermis, which is the layer of tissue under the epidermis. This ink is walled-off by the body in this location as the scavenger cells find the ink too big to digest.

Laser Tattoo Removal involves the removal of your unwanted tattoo through the use of the RevLite laser. The RevLite laser is designed to discharge different wavelengths of light into the specific layer of your skin where the ink has rested. These wavelengths of light in turn break up the ink into tiny particles, which are then eaten up by the body's scavenger cells. Different wavelengths of light must be applied for the different colours and different types of ink in the tattoo.

Laser Tattoo removal is not a quick process, as it can take anywhere from four to ten treatments to remove as much ink as possible. As each treatment must be performed at least six weeks apart, you must be committed to the removal from the first treatment.

If you are interested in getting your tattoo removed or simply would like to find out more about the process, feel free to contact our friendly team at The Cosmetic Medicine Centre in Queensland to arrange an initial consultation with one of our doctors.

Laser Tattoo Removal

Decorative and cosmetic tattoos (e.g. eyebrow and eyeliner tattoos) may be regretted sooner or later. They can often be removed by using lasers. Multicoloured tattoos may require more than one type of laser.

A local anaesthetic is normally used to numb the area to be removed and after the laser treatment, a dressing is applied.

A thin scab forms over the treated area and after this comes away, the colour continues to fade for several weeks.
