The Matrix RF delivers radiofrequency energy in tiny spots in a matrix pattern deep within the skin which increases levels of beneficial collagen and new healthy skin cells. The intact skin around the “spots” initiates a rapid healing process. This treatment may be used for smoothing fine lines, promoting textural changes within the skin, reducing the appearance of sun damage and acne scarring. Results appear gradually and may require a number of treatments.
After a consultation with the doctor, the treatment protocol will be prescribed for you to suit your requirements. You may then book in with the registered nurse to proceed. The number of treatments required will vary with the condition to be treated but is typically 3 or more.
To minimise discomfort, a topical local anaesthetic is applied to the area to be treated 90 minutes beforehand. After the procedure there will be some redness, and a feeling of roughness within the treated area as the pixels of dead skin are shed. Swelling will be apparent for the first few days especially if the treated area is around the eyes.
